So, you have a nice digital single lens reflex camera but only know how to turn it on and press the shutter button. You can get average pictures in the automatic modes, but to get great pictures you need to out think your camera. Learn to shoot in the manual mode and understand how to get the best picture possible. After that, learn how to improve your images in Photoshop CS-5 or Photoshop Elements. Numerous other workshops are designed to better your photographic knowledge. Workshops are held regularly in Las Vegas and Kansas City.

In the event that there are not enough registrants for a workshop, the workshop may be canceled or rescheduled.

Withdrawal and Refunds

Seating is limited in the workshops. For cancellations received 7 days or less from the date of the class or workshop, we can not offer refunds. For cancellations received 8 days or more before the start of the class or workshop, a refund will be paid less a $30 processing fee.

ONE ON ONE TRAININGIf you are interested in personalized training to address your individual needs, Larry offers one-on-one instruction based on just what you want to learn.Cost is $100/hour with a 2 hour minimumUpcoming WorkshopsDIGITAL SINGLE LENS REFLEX CAMERA BASICSThis three hour workshop will cover how to use the exposure controls on your digital camera, composition, and other basic necessary knowledge to use your digital camera for optimum results. Learn how to use your camera in the manual mode like the pros. Also learn the nuts and bolts of exposure - shutter speeds, f-stops and ISO and the relationship each has with the other. The reading and use of histograms will be explained. Learn the fundamentals of composition while beginning to see what makes some images jump out, while others simply don't. Be able to have your subject in focus and the background out of focus for emphasis. .You must have a digital SLR camera that allows you to use manual settings.Workshop is limited to 50 Students with a minimum of 6 Cost is $89 OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPThis workshop is designed to apply and practice the knowledge gained in the Digital Basics Workshop. The workshop will be held in a local park where you will practice photographing landscapes, close-ups and a model. The class is limited to 12 students so Larry can give individual help to everyone. Shooting in the manual mode will be emphasized and composition explained. Many movies including 3000 miles to Graceland have filmed scenes here. In addition, you will go on a guided above and belowground mining tour that will take you into the mine and the history of the oldest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada. This old mining town is such a contrast from the glitz of Las Vegas that it is hard to imagine that at one time the population of this area was greater than the Las Vegas Valley. Step back in time and capture images that you can get nowhere else. Check out the gallery photos to see the incredible images possible.Minimum of 10 participants Cost $150Outdoor People PhotographyLearn how to photograph people outside in the sun and shade. Improve your skills for placing and posing people. The use of reflectors and scrims will be demonstrated. A model will be present to practice on. ABOUT

All classes and workshops are taught by Larry Hanna. Larry has been working as a professional photographer in Las Vegas for 35 years . He is skilled in portraiture, food, architecture, interior, glamour and landscape photography. He is also proficient in Photoshop.Larry has been awarded the coveted Master of Photography and Craftsman Photographer degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. He was named Nevada Professional Photographer of the Year a record four times by the Professional Photographers of Nevada. In addition, he has won over 100 Addy Awards for his advertising photography.Over the years, Larry has lectured to other professional photography organizations throughout the western United States. You will be driven out to the old abandoned Techattiucp mining town where Larry will help you to get the optimum photographs of the remaining buildings and artifacts. Also, a model will be available to pose for you amongst the old buildings and vehicles. This is an amazing place to take great photos. The owners of the location have restored many of the buildings and the grounds are laced with old rusted vehicles and mining equipment. Many movies including 3000 miles to Graceland have filmed scenes here.
